in heaven, everything is fine
i rarely remember my dreams or if i do, they are the boring type where i am obviously processing my mundane daily problems out in my sleep. i think this is why i adore david lynch so much.
lynch’s art, particularly his films (even the ones i don’t care for) *are* dreams captured on celluloid for all of us to observe and become a part of. through use of incredible sound editing, beautiful cinematography, and absurd/comical/dark (sometimes thinly veiled) storylines, i am whisked away into the realm of the unconsious mind—a universe of the Symbolic, where life is an alternate reality that, at times, makes more sense to me than the current one i am a part of.
there is beauty in the absurd and lynch has repeatedly and masterfully shared his version of it with anyone who wants/dares to take the journey.
